Withyham Parish Council Air Traffic Committee

The Air Traffic Committee is an advisory committee of the Council. It acts as a channel for communicating the views and concerns of the residents of our Parish to District, County, and Central Government levels, in connection with any matters relating to the effect of aircraft traffic on the residents. The Committee provides an analysis of the often complex and technical issues raised in consultations. Following recommendations from the Air Traffic Committee the Parish Council has issued responses to two recent Government consolations: - The Night Flight Restriction Consultation 2017 and The Aviation Strategy: call for evidence 2017. It is anticipated that a number of further consultations will be issued in the next few years before the introduction of a new UK air traffic control system in 2022.

Members of the Committee also attended and liaise with other independent bodies and groups associated with air traffic. The Air Traffic Committee meets at the Parish Council offices four times a year and is made up of four councilors. Members of the public are welcome to join the committee and should contact the clerk for more details.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and there is an opportunity for members of the public to speak at the beginning of every meeting.  Agendas are always published in advance on notice boards in the Parish.

Please contact the Parish Office if you would like any further information or if you have an interest in joining the Committee.
